I've been there
After I read a revue of The road when the book came out. I went to my local library to put in an
inter library loan. I was sure my local library wouldn't have it as it had just been published, plus
it wasn't a main stream book. Imagine my suprise when I walked through the library door.
And there it was right in front of me on a shelf of books just in, being promoted.
I got it out and read it
My short revue
As I like post apocalyptic stories, the premise of the raod is great
A world devastated by some global disaster. A blasted landscape devoid of all life
And the survivors the huntered, or the prey.
All there is to eat, are people. The fear of being caught and eaten was there.
This is a chilling novel

What bugs me about Australia day
Every year Australia day celebrations are always spoiled by that class of loser who use every
oppertunity rub our faces in everything the country has done wrong
Once again mainstream media wheeled out stories of how racist we are and
aboriginals and the pedalers of the aboriginal victims industry riot as usual
We know what the conuntry has done (we,re never aloud to forget it)
Why can't for once, we be aloud to celebrate our great country
and the great things we have achived.
And leave the soul searching for more appropriate times?

Preppervilles?
Its one thing to have all the gear you need to be independent.
But having a secure place to stay is a real problem
For all intents and purposes I have every thing I need to survive any likely
natural or man made disaster.
Except a secure place to stay.
I can't afford a rual retreat, and if you renting, the owner can kick you out.
If things get really bad, theres going to 1000's of preppers all kitted out,
with good 4x4, and nowhere to go.
I wonder if preppers, and like minded people will form their own preppervilles?
All we need is land!
I'm packed for 7 days on the road.

Packed for 30 days on the road.
